About Us
Hop and Flop Rabbit Rescue is a registered NPC dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming domestic rabbits across the Eastern Cape, South Africa.
Hop and Flop Rabbit Rescue officially opened doors in November 2024, and became officially registered in July 2025. We are a small scale and the only registered rabbit rescue based in the Eastern Cape, South Africa – however, we are headquartered in Port Elizabeth. We are dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming domestic rabbits.
We are primarily a foster-based rescue, with a dedicated quarantine/medical area at our home to monitor critical rabbits that come in. Our team all have full time jobs or studies, and assist the rescue on a voluntary basis.
All rabbits that are adopted out are sterilised, been medically treated if needed, and have received a basic health check. We have strict rehoming requirements in order to ensure that adoptees are able to provide gold standard housing and care for the rabbits they adopt.
